![]() Things get pretty sad toward the end, and it’s nice to see developers that still try to come up with original concepts. Nice plot twists and quite a few sad momentsĪll things considered, Presentable Liberty is quite a serious game, even if it pretends to be funny. You can’t leave your cell or do anything but move around and play the video games, which makes the atmosphere that much more intriguing. Speaking of which, you can also receive other items as well, including posters, a bug and a few table legs. The clock on the wall keeps ticking away throughout the day and the letters start coming much more rarely after a while. Still, everything is much more fun when it’s the only thing you can do. Hence, one of them is a tougher version of Snake, while another is just Flappy Bird with a few changes. These games are actually quite engaging and difficult, although not very original. Play mini-games and admire your poster collectionĮvery now and again you receive a few items to keep you company, the most important of which is a portable game console with a handful of games. However, the main plot revolves around the world coming to an end because of a virus that wipes out the humankind. Some of them are old friends trying to keep you company, while others are just people trying to make new friends. Although you cannot see any of the characters that write to you, their personality becomes apparent from the letters, and the clues are pretty strong. And yet- it made me feel and take action that no other thing would do. Thus, everything is communicated through letters. The first game (before presentable liberty) is more of a cookie-clicker game. ![]() You might think it gets boring and tedious after a while, but there are other things to distract you, plus an engaging story relayed in a unique way. In essence, you play the role of a prisoner stuck in a cell, and the whole game has you. Presentable Liberty is not your typical video game, especially when it comes to gameplay mechanics. Presentable Liberty is not your typical video game, especially when it comes to gameplay mechanics. New York Liberty 2022 record: 16-20 Result: Lost to Chicago in first round Final 2022 regular-season Power Ranking: 10. Witness the end of the world one day at a time Hence, prison is still the preferred method of punishment for criminals and dangerous people, because we have yet to think of something worse. Once that is taken away, it becomes a lot more obvious that we are not meant to be locked in a cell for months or even years on end. Personally, I would like to see more games try to break mold a little bit in terms of plot.No one likes being a prisoner, regardless of how little actual living they do when they have all the freedom in the world. So many of them read like YA chapter books, (which is totally fine!!!), but I want to see if anybody can make a game that plays more like traditional video games, where the player is self-directed. Imagine something like the recent Dragon Age: Inquisition. The player has a home base, and then can go out to explorable scenes that might lead them to a rabbit-hole mission. Using an existing game as an example: Imagine if in Unnatural, instead of choosing the cases from a list after the previous one is complete, your agent actually gets to go out into the city and discover the cases on their own! That would be neat. Obviously, it’s difficult to do (though I am trying with my own WIPs), but this topic isn’t for discussing the logistics. So how about y’all? Got any thoughts about where you’d like to see these kinds of games heading in the future? I want to hear about and I’ve actually dabbled in the ideas you’re mentioning. I wrote a small story that had four protagonists, and actually suggested that the player get someone else to play the other characters for optimal result (to steer players away from fixing a result by having all the characters act the same way, for example). It was interesting but unfortunately I have a million other things to do so I never finished it. GAMES LIKE PRESENTABLE LIBERTY CODEĪs far as a true multi-game experience, I’d imagine you could do it with save importation, but as that is handled on CoG’s end of things, I have no real idea how that works in the code so I couldn’t say for and I’m actually working on one of those! It’s going to take seven centuries to finish it, but hey, at least now I know there’s a potential audience. ![]() I definitely think an interactive GN would be super fun.Īs for y’all supervillain lovers, I know of several villain WIPs and I think there’s going to be an official Choice of Villain game as well, so your dream may come true.
